Strava Fires Senior Manager After Shocking Restaurant Brawl

Shireen Afkari, a 32-year-old woman and Senior Manager in Growth Marketing at Strava, was arrested for public intoxication following a violent incident at Hazie's restaurant in San Francisco. The altercation occurred after restaurant staff refused to serve Afkari and her male companion, Christian Bruchman, due to their apparent intoxication. Eyewitnesses reported that the situation escalated when Afkari began yelling at the staff and physically attacking them.

During the confrontation, Afkari was seen verbally assaulting employees and physically engaging with them, including pulling bartender Miguel Marchese's hair. The chaos continued outside the restaurant as Marchese attempted to distract her by throwing her phone away before tripping her as she tried to retrieve it. Police were called to the scene and subsequently arrested Afkari for public intoxication.

Strava released a statement condemning violence and confirming that Afkari's behavior did not align with their company values. Following her arrest, she was terminated from her position at Strava. The incident has sparked mixed reactions online regarding both Afkari's actions and the responses of the restaurant staff involved.
